My Interest In Renaissance thought and literature, and in John Dee and the "Sidney group" is particular, began whilst I was an undergraduate. My first debt is, therefore, to the University of Hull, not only for providing me with a Postgraduate Scholarship between 1973 and 1976 to enable me to continue this interest. This thesis regarding Dee's religious philosophy and prophetic role is its failure to specify the nature, in precise and practical terms, of this "universal reformation". - Graham Yewbrey
