darkbooks.org began in early 2008 I am happy to donate my time to providing you this resource, I would also like to note, that, although I try, I do not always have enough time to deal with the site, including, unfortunately, I do not always have time to answer all letters, because I have to earn money for a living. If you can financially help me, it would free me from the worries of earning money for living, perhaps partially, but ideally completely, then all 100% of my time could be devoted to the site. Also I do pay monthly web server/files storage and hosting costs to keep this site on the air. Please consider making a donation to help me continue this activity and devote more time to it or at least offset the cost of paying for storage/hosting. Even a small contribution helps!

A textbook for practical work with the Qabalah written by Chic Cicero and Sandra Tabatha Cicero.

Study of the Qabalah is a fulfilling endeavor by itself, but study is only half of the equation. Unless the principies of the Qabalah are put into practice in one's life through meditations, visualizations, affirmations, and ritual exercises, they will not become the all-encompassing system of spiritual growth that they are intended to be. The Qabalah is described as the "yoga of the West" because it is designed to be an interactive process of personal evolution. Those individuals who read about the Qabalah but never commit to performing any practical work with it risk becoming "armchair magicians"--people who can rattle off names and dates, facts and figures, but have no idea how to perform the proper techniques of magic--thus they have no real understanding of the methods or even the purpose of theurgy ("god-working"). As with most human enterprises, practice makes perfect.

About Author:

Charles 'Chic' Cicero (born 1936) is well-known author in the esoteric community. He was born in Buffalo, New York.He has been a practicing ceremonial magician for the past forty years.

An early love of music, particularly of the saxophone, resulted in Chic's many years of experience as a lead musician in several jazz, blues and rock ensembles, working with many famous performers in the music industry.

Cicero's interest in Freemasonry and the Western mystery tradition resulted in research articles on Rosicrucianism and the Knights Templar, printed in such publications as Ars Quatuor Coronatorum and the 1996-2000 Transactions of the Metropolitan College of the SRIA.

Chic is a member of several Masonic, Martinist, and Rosicrucian organizations. He was also a close personal friend and confidant of Dr. Israel Regardie. Having established a Golden Dawn temple in 1977, Chic was one of the key people who helped Regardie to resurrect a legitimate, initiatory branch of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn in the United States in the early 1980s. He met his wife and co-author, Sandra Tabatha Cicero, shortly thereafter.

Chic is an extremely active member of his Local York Rite and Grand York Rite Masonic Bodies, serving as both a Local and Grand Line Officer.

Both Chic and Tabatha are Chief Adepts of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn as re-established by Israel Regardie. The Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, of which Chic is the G.H. Imperator, is an international Order with Temples in several countries.

The Ciceros have written numerous books on the Golden Dawn, Tarot, and Magic.

The Ciceros also create custom-made hand-crafted Golden Dawn implements based on their original designs from the book "Secrets of a Golden Dawn Temple." These can be seen at www.goldendawnshop.com.
