I just finished reading a pretty extensive and somewhat heated thread on myspace about there being an "age iimit" for being a wiccan. It was apparently (as ususal) a comment gone wrong. The maker of said comment refered to covens that keep their practice secret have their practitioners enter into a binding agreement that they will not release coven information to anyone outside, and since only a legal adult can enter into a contract...one must technically be 18. There was also the mention of sexual practices at some rites. The counter points varied between people mentioning allowing their children to participate and a demand for documented cases about parents who didn't want their children taught a religion. There was only one post at the very end even bringing up solitary practitioners. SOOOO, my question is....does anyone here agree with the statement that there is an age limit for wiccans? Or is it simply a small rule used by some covens for whatever legal protection they might require because of some ritual pratices? ;-) posted in | |||
